    THE SPICY, BLUE SKY ®©

Over the BROWN fence and through the GREEN woods,
ran Alex and Aaron wearing bright RED hoods.

They journeyed beneath the YELLOW sun until...
Little BLACK dots lead them to a large ant hill.

The two brothers looked down, both wearing BLUE pants.
Many thoughts crossed their minds, but mostly of ants.

"What do ants eat?!" Aaron asked his big brother.
Alex thought hard as they stared at each other.

Then Alex felt something inside his pockets.
He laid some crayons down, "Ants will think their rockets!"

The closest crayon to them was labeled "Sky BLUE."
Ants surrounded it, wondering what to do.

The ants took the crayon back to their big dirt dome.
The sun was setting - the boys had to get home.

The next day they woke and the sky looked funny.
What was always BLUE - was now ORANGE and runny.

They got dressed. All colors a different hue.
Then they noticed their pants were now ORANGE, not BLUE!

"BLUE's disappeared!" Aaron noted, quite distressed.
"I think ants ate it." Alex slowly confessed.

They ran past their parents, who watched T.V. news.
All colors were wrong! Everyone had "the BLUEs!"

"How can we fix this?!" Aaron asked his brother.
Then Alex thought of a plan like no other...

They filled a bag with BLUE crayons and hot sauces.
They first told their parents - that’s who the boss is.

Then they set off, the sunlight had a strange glow.
"Will it work?" Aaron asked. Alex did not know.

Over the TAN fence and through the YELLOW woods.
Ran Alex and Aaron wearing dark PINK hoods.

They journeyed beneath the PURPLE sun until...
Little BLACK dots lead them to a large ant hill.

The two brothers looked down, both wearing ORANGE pants.
One thought on their minds, "Would their plan fool the ants?!"

Then they poured the hot sauce over one BLUE crayon.
As ants approached, Aaron said, "I like your plan!"

The ants took the crayon back to their big dirt dome.
The sun was setting - the boys had to get home.

The next day they woke to a sky; brilliant BLUE!
Their plan worked! Everyone was saying, “Thank You!”

News came from the TV, which was on too loud.
Now hero’s, their parents were happy and proud.

A long time passed. That day ancient history.
The brothers think the event a mystery.

People say that day was scary and dicey…
But the birds still think the air tastes too spicy.

The end.
